I know it worked on my Red Hat machine and the Instructor admittedly didn't have much experience on the newer Versions. He was good he definately got me the basic of Linux which is what the course was designed to do. It gave me enough background to start to try to configure things myself. In fact I am proud of myself I got Samba to Work (almost) last night. I just have to fine tune the password settings.
