Linux & Win2000 Help! by FearNotIAm2001-07-19 06:22:15
  Win2k + Debian by shockwave 2001-07-19 07:46:07
I have Win2k and Debian runnin on my TP a20p...
(before this I hab 2k+SuSE and 2k+Redhat - but Debian is best I think)

This is what I did (never had any Probs)
Install Win2k (allways had to do it first because it was one of them pesky recoverycds) on a partition (2GB first Partition on HD)
Install Linux on sec Partition on HD (I kept below 1024Cyl - just to make sure my kernels keep working) then swap Partition and after that I have a ext2 for exchange between the sys and anoher large one for Linux stuff
Put Lilo in the mbr - and then configured it to boot:
default: lin
other: win (I expect you to know how to configure Lilo :-) )
prompt: 5 sec
After that just enjoy - it works fine...

Win2k wants to be the first Operating system on the physical drive I think.
so:
hda1 = win
hda2 = lin
hdxx = others

hope I could help
