harddrake and kudzu are automatic hardware detection&installation programs, but if they don't work you can always resort to linuxconf(multipurpose configuration tool)->network->configure eth0 (first ethernet device). I think you have to select one from a cryptic list of drivers, lucky for me harddrake found & configured my card (NE2000 clone) with no hassles.

BTW, run harddrake, kudzu and linuxconf by typing their names in a console, or accessing Mandrake's Control Panel in X and selecting hardware config or something...
