The pattern is well known: every powerful politician, religious leader or businessperson in the world (male or female) who isn't completely celibate, is a sexual athelete of the highest caliber. The power drive is largely an offshoot of the sex drive, and those with the highest sex drive (or the most frustrated sex drive - the internal politics within the College of Cardinals is said to get pretty intense) usually have the strongest will to power.

Do you really believe Slick Willy was the first US president to have an affair or that he had just the ones we know about? Dream on. Hell, he's not even the first to get caught at it!

Nor was it Jack Kennedy who first turned the president's desk into the Oral Office. There may have been a few presidents that didn't have lovers outside of marriage - e.g., James Buchanan, who is thought by many historians to have been a lifelong homosexual, was probably too closeted to ever have gotten laid while in office - but if so, they were very much in the minority. Bush senior supposedly had several affairs, both before and while in the White House. One wonders what sort of 4th of July celebration Dubya is going to haveafter the other kind of fireworks are over...

What is strange about this isn't that it happens, but that so many Murkins are crazy enough to think it wouldn't. I mean, think about it this way: would you really want a leader who wasn't getting any? Me, neither.
