</Princess Bride quote>

One man being injected and dying painlessly and humanely for the crime of blowing 160+ men, women and children to pieces, with some of them dying deaths that would be considered far from 'humane' is a far cry from justice.

It might be a legal action that can be taken, but it is a long way from 'just'

McVeigh wanted to be executed, so he could be a 'martyr' in his 'war' against the government..we gave him what he wanted. Personally, I would rather have seen him spend the next 50 years in solitary confinement, with no access to newspapers or any kind of media, and no way to make a statement. (Or allow him to make statements, then have columnists tear him apart in the same paper) Not because I want vengeance, (I don't know any of the people killed) but because his whole reason for doing it was to accomplish exactly what he did. We gave that to him, and I would discourage any other would-be terrorists by making sure that their ends would never be accomplished. Something along the 'no negotiation' policy with skyjackers concept.
