Well, I changed to flat mode and reloaded a bunch of times, I'm not seeing anything like this with Mozilla 0.9/Linux. The only three things I can think of that would cause the behavior you describe are: A) someone has a REALLY long username, pushing the table cells around, and their posts get deleted before you notice them, B) the UF code is occasionally burping garbage into the $author sections, or C) Mozilla is screwing up mysteriously.
