That parody of these TelSel commercials comes to mind. Too bad I can't find it anymore on the Internet. Lemme try and reconstruct it from memory:
Amazing DiscoveriesTM jingle stops, Mike & Dan walk in
Mike: "Hi, Dan. I've got something now you'd really want to have. It's another Amazing DiscoveryTM."
Dan: "What is it? What is it?"
Mike: "Look at this! It's white, it's flat..."
Dan: "Wow! Look at that, people! It's so flat I'd think I'd be staring at a 2-D object!"
Mike: "And that's not all! Look at it when I take this tiny stick..."
Dan: "You're moving the stick over the paper... and wow! You can see all sorts of symbols now!"
Mike: "Yes! I even can write on it!" Writes 'Amazing DiscoveriesTM' on the piece of paper
Dan: "Wow! So we don't need these heavy laptops aymore to write down what we want to? Wow! That really is an Amazing Discovery!TM"
Mike: "Yes! And it's that light because it doesn't need any batteries!"
Dan: "Wow! So you never run out of batteries! People, throw these old heavy laptops out of the window! Paper is much better!"
Mike: "And that's not all!"
Dan: "Oh no, Mike! What are you doing now! You're folding the paper... 2 times., 3 times... Wow, it does get quite small. But won't that damage the paper?"
Mike: "Not quite." Folds it back open
Dan: "Wow! The paper is now uncompressed again and I can still read what's on it! Don't try that with your laptop, folks! But Mike! What are you doing now! You're breaking the paper in many pieces! No!"
Mike: "Don't worry, Dan." Picks the ripped pieces of paper up again and puts them next to eachother
Dan: "Look! You've done something that'd have broken any laptop, but here you still can read the text! No more fear for harddisc headcrashes!"
Mike: "True, Dan. And this 'paper' and the stick you use to write on it, called a 'pencil' are yours for only $99.99!"
Dan: "But wait! That's not all! If you order now, we'll throw in a few extra pieces of paper AND a free eraser! You can use the eraser to undo anything you've done with the pencil."
Mike: "Yes, this truly is an Amazing DiscoveryTM." |
