Okay, I promise I shan't use ARS as my singular help board, I'm just alone and scared in my new OS and figured my fellow UFies would be decently helpful (despite that I'm running Redhat 7.1 and UF runs on SuSE. don't eat me...) The Linux camp now has one more convert, friends (and she's female!)... but she's up a new river without a paddle.
Simple question, though, to begin with...
At my friends' behest, with the discovery that Wacom does purvey a Linux driver for their tablets (a major concern to someone so seduced by Gimp) I now run it on a second drive. I did download the driver tarball and the RPM, but I'm not sure what to do. Documentation for the driver specified that it served Wacom Graphire tablets... problem, mine is a USB PenPartner, not a Graphire. Can't find a more suitable driver; not sure how to install it in any event. (I'm a RAW, NAKED, BLATANT newbie... but I'm not stupid about it, I hope..) Has anyone gotten a PenPartner or Intuos to work with RH7? (Illiad? I remember asking you about it on March 2nd. I'm hopeful now. :) Especially such that it will work in tandem with the mouse, not merely replace it as the default input device?
*waves her hand desperately in the air*
I'm not even going to START my problems with Licq. Any answer would be dearly appreciated. I feel like I'm five years old again, just learning Windows 3.1... it's not unpleasant, but it's not been exactly easy in the last day either. |
