| It's hard to describe. Go see this for a quickie explanation. It's sticky, and it smells terrible. When boiled, it's about as slippery as baby oil, and tastes a lot worse. Also prepared baked or fried, it's generally a Southern (US) "food." Your snails must be different from the snails I have met. None of them would be very good. No, I haven't tasted one, but there are some things you can look at and just tell they won't taste good. Like courdoroy, or mud, or poison oak. Snail is another. However, with enough beer, I might be able to stomach a snail or three. I even ate Grape Nuts one night after a bout of heavy alcohol consumption, so anything's possible. But remind me never to visit Portugal, in case you do thwow me to the fwoor, fill my mouth with snails and then pinch my nose shut. |
