This is what Adobe Acrobat (the full product, not Acrobat Reader) is made for - just use the TouchUp Text Tool. Unfortunately, I don't think Adobe offers a free 30-day tryout, and the retail price is over $200 ($60 academic). But I suppose you could consider it an investment for future resumes, especially since PDF files print out a lot cleaner than Word files.
