| Actually, I believe that if we work at it, Linux
could become significantly better. The problem
here is infighting.. Ask yourself; What will get
more work done on a 3d engine? (Multiple choice)
a) 10 people working independantly on seperate terrain
engines.
b) 2 people on 1 terrain engine, 2 working on
modelling, 2 on particals, 2 on implementation,
2 on testing.
Pick one, or the other. The first is to represent
our window managers. We have lot's, and people waste
time working on WMs that will probably never succeed.
The latter implied a collective effort, like the KDE
or Gnome project. You can obviously see that KDE
is far more advanced than FVWM95.
Would it really help to start over, again?
The kernel is open source so you can add these
features you want, and X is OSS so you can optimize
it. Linux is OSS. Got a problem? Please help out
the Linux community rather than competing with it. |
