| I'm going to be the first to come right out and say this. MS Windows has always proven to be far stabler, more reliable, and generally all around better than any open source applicated product. MS wouldn't have achieved their level of domination they have now if this fact hadn't been apparent in the beginning. Several of you mention that even a monkey (or human) on LSD can run Windows, that is also a key to their success: easy to run, easy to maintain, and runs a great many of the programs out there. Yes, many of you will claim this is not true, Linux has many great features that make it a better OS than anything MS produces, but on the other hand, most of you are also such a knowledge base regarding computers that it makes the average user look like an idiot. As someone who has run Linux, I have repeadetly beat my head up against the wall wondering why the hell I do so. There are some great parts to it, being able to right custom code for any damn thing I want, but beyond that, stability just isn't there. |
