If they are, then let them know you are a geek, but geeks are people too, often with interesting things to say. And if they are a totally hopeless case, it is so much more fun to exaggerate the geek bit and annoy the heck out of them rather then hide it. Besides I've long since discovered that it isn't as easy to conceal as you think. One day something computer literate just pops out and you're doomed.
