...to the most of what you said... people using that kind of OS *shoudl* be aware of what they are doing... and if we make mistake (we are human, though), then we know who to blame...it is almost every time ourselves... ...I only disagree about the GNOME (or KDE, or whatever)...I find it pretty neat. Why? because it lets me make all the stuff a MS-CLient can do (such as small DB's, letters, mail-reading in an easy way...etc...) I mean...I call that improvement... but certainly only then...when both points does melt togehter... aware users can also use a desktop...so...why not?... :-)...my 5 cents.. scheuri
