I don't see the problem with a straight person liking a gay person (and visa versa). You may not want to "date" them (you can replace "date" with any other sexual relationship, but I'm not going to be the one to get moderated for it), but there are so many other levels that two people can connect and become friends that it shouldn't matter what their sexual orientation is. You can like someone of a different sexual orientation just like you can dislike someone of the same sexual orientation. That's not a basis upon which it makes sense to judge a platonic friendship. Ahem. I'm finished and I'm going back to work now...
