| The discussion under this post has gotten increasingly absurd. While this is often a good thing, I feel that circumstances behoove me to take on the role of a voice of reason. Some points follow.
Kickstart has a difficult job as moderator. There is a lot of activity here that, for one reason or another, should not be generally viewed. There are also a lot of people who will object to being moderated under what they feel are inconsistent standards, or who will attempt to rebel against kickstart just because he's there.
While the aforementioned behavior is good in that it provides differing opinions for discussion, when it reaches the depths to which deejee has sunk, it becomes both annoying and disturbing.
The talk of "We have free speech, so I should get to post whatever I want", though an interesting topic, totally irrelevant to the matter at hand. You *can* post whatever you want. Even if it gets moderated after you post it, you can read it if you so specify in your account settings.
My main point is this: If you want to make some joke which relies on straining kickstart's boundaries, all right. But to continue doing so for too long, as we have seen today, is fatuous. Funny once does not equal funny always. |
