In your opinion, others may disagree.

And sometimes they don't, I don't know what the joke was, so I don't have an opinion. However you seem to using this statement to support an argument that it was morally wrong moderate the joke. It doesn't. It could be used to show that people may be upset by it being removed, but it has no baring on whther or not it was correct to remove it.

Correct.

Incorrect. They have no such obligation. Had you said 'should' instead of had, or even better 'I think they should,' then you would be expressing an opinion, or making a request, that would be fine, but instead you are dictating policy where you have no right to.

I agree, the moderator appears to also, as they are still up.

No, it isn't, at least not here. The guaranty of freedom of speech was to prevent the government from taking legal action against anyone who spoke out in oposition to the government or its policies. It guaranties you can express your opinion, but it doesn't guaranty you can express it where and when you like. This board, despite its public appearance, is privately owned. The owners have given you no guaranty that you can post anything here you please, and even if thay had, they cold back out of it and there would be nothing you could do about it. Any moderation to these boards, no matter how the decission is reached, is neither ileagle nor contrary to the law (is it a law?) for freedom of speech, because said moderation is an expression of the owner's opinion. |
