Deejee and moderation by kickstart 2001-02-09 08:45:56
FYI for everyone, I spent a good while thinking about it, and have disabled the 'deejee' account. But not why you might think. He was not moderated for disagreeing with me - he can do that all he wants. He was moderated because he was trolling and spamming the board with complaints (same basic complaint in 7 different threads below). Here are the guidelines I follow for moderation: 1) Links to porn or illegal materials 2) Obvious trolls 3) Extreme language (when I was assigned this task I was told "Moderate what you wouldn't want your 14-year old sister to see") 4) Posts which, intentionally or without care, have a good chance of confusing the board or making it less enjoyable for the large majority of people. Moderation is a flexible thing though...I can't guarantee that someone won't post something objectionable that does not fall into the above. You can go ahead and flame me. I work a good chunk of my own free time to make sure this board runs smoothly. If you don't appreciate that, that's your choice. Kickstart
