| I've said it before, I'll say it again, it was the box from hell. A Packard Bell 486 DX, 4 megs of ram, 2 speed CD-ROM, SB16 soundcard, 9600 baud modem, generic video card, etc., etc. At the time (1993), this was decent hardware, but ... it was ... Packard Bell. Keeping this thing WORKING was what drove me into hardware teching, and, well, it's still driving me. I keep that old box in my closet as an inspiration to keep on learning just in case my usual gloom decides to try and make me too depressed to learn.
