| >>And who decides what's crap, and what is funny? I think that other visitors can reply to crap, and tell it is crap. Freedom of speech and stuff, ya know?
>Oh, "make $$$ fast" and stuff like that is freedom of speech? Get real. Boards usually have a topic or a "meaning" of some sort, and if your posting does not match it, it should be deleted.
.
Did you read my posts? I said spam can be moderated. That's generally irritating. People's posts and jokes are not...
.
>A good moderator does not remove a posting because he can't get the joke or does not like the author's opinion.
.
Then we agree about that. That's what I am trying to tell you. So we now finally agreed that kickstart is NOT a good moderator...
.
>>>Yes, you did send a dupe.
>>Didn't post twice. Maybe my compu got slow, and doubleclicked for itself, but I sure as hell didn't...
>Fact: Your post is in the board twice.
.
Yeah, fact. But why moderate both, and say I must not try and post again something like it? That's lame...
.
>>>And besides, I "hink" your joke totally sucked.
>>That's your personal opinions, and personal opinions should NEVER EVER be the reason for moderation!
>I never stated that your joke should be deleted because of its suckiness.
.
But it is moderated because of kickstart thinks so. Again: Fact!
.
>>>And credits to kickstart for NOT kicking this crappy
>>>joke in the first place, only its copy.
>>He moderaetd both together, NOT only the joke! He's Lame with a big L!
>Oh looky here, you're right. Well, like kickstart said (in case you bothered reading his postings), he kicked 'em both in response to you sending out dupes. YES, I understand you did not do it on purpose. Still happened. Besides, he probably wanted to reduce confusion - "translation thread" is a somewhat hot topic around here anyways, and having similar-sounding topics certainly will not ease the minds around here.
.
As I allready stated, why moderaet both, and tell me not to post anymore? Besides, the text explaining the subject of my posting should take away any confusion...
.
>>>Besides, since you are a "moderater" you should know
>>>the score. Are you a slashdot "moderater"?
>>Nope, I'm a real moderator.
>I see. Attention all slashdot moderators, you have just been declared "unreal".
.
I didn't say thay are unreal, just said I was real. I don't know about them. Same thing as I know my car exists, and I don't know if yours is, because I don't even know you own one, capice?
.
>>I moderate the discusion boards of the 5th biggest digital city of the netherlands, I am one of the webmaster there and I run the HTML department of it!
>Hope you're not responsible for the jokes dept of that city. scnr.
.
That is not what the discussion is about, is it?
.
>>Maybe a list of WWW ('rules' on what will be moderated and what's not) would be the thing we need here.
>I don't think so. I guess everyone except you (and Factitious?) is happy with kickstart.
.
Maybe. Maybe the other few hundereds not posting here are on my hand. Who knows? Maybe they are as real as the slashdor moderators, right?
.
>>And just to make sure you get it: According to the law there's a certain amount of 'freedom of speech'.
>Hell, why don't you just sue kickstart?
.
Why should I? He stopped moderating me...
.
>>If your discussion board doesn't have a disclaimer on >what's being moderated, you just CANN'T moderate >ANYTHING, because that moderation would be illegal >practice...
>Oh great, that means I can invade your board and post tons of completely off-topic nonsense messages? Cool. Gimme the URL, please.
.
As a matter of fact, we DO have a disclaimer and terms etc... But we also have a 'general' board, where you can post anything you want (except illegal and spam content, as stated in the disclaimer)
