| I was under the impression that since Japan is a "peaceful, low-crime" nation, I would not expect toy weapons to be so freely available among children.
Based on my experience in Sillycon, California, toy weapons are fairly uncommon unless you go to a large toy store. This is due to several incidents where children were killed by police officers who thought they had real guns, and a law was passed to restrict toy weapons to certain sizes and colors. When I was growing up, Old West cap guns and rifles were big Christmas items. I don't see those anymore. So I was a bit shock to see a AK-47 in a young kids game.
For the record, I do play Quake and I know where to shove a pineapple if you need one. :) |
