If you wish to see the beginning of the most recent battle, you will have to go back two more days to a thread by Robin Goodfella wherein Capt X picked at a scab from the last encounter. It was in fun, but the "me too" crowd joined in and hyped everything up a notch. Drunk on the attention, Capt X took another opportunity to lambast Kamui Shirou. It was still a parody that was somewhat light in tone and included others, but it showed that he was playing the crowd. Kamui gave a fairly gracious request to be excluded from future parodies (see d20010126/t43577), but it was too late. Capt X went off the deep end and began stalking Kamui, flaming his every post. As Kam is not the most forgiving of people, he naturally flamed back.
When I indicated that I felt Capt X was above such behavior, I got a few nicks myself. I think the Capt let his personal grudge get the better of his usual wit and style. Sadly, everyone has their bad days. As near as I can tell, Capt X is upset that Kamui complained about the lack of tech-based strips a week ago. Since several others complained of the same thing, there must be something else involved, too, but that was the incident that set him off.
Now, if the "me too" contingent will just lay off and go after other meat, perhaps the Capt will get over his temporary insanity and do what he does best.
So, Kam's post here is out of thread, but it's also no surprise to those of us who were paying any kind of attention at all. |
