Yes, there are many books in Bärndütsch, not only Asterix! Rudolf von Tavel, Simon Gfeller and Otto von Greyerz wrote in Bärndütsch, and these lived in the 19th or in the beginning of the 20th century. Today there aren't only folkloristic stories in Bärndütsch, even comics. User Friendly too.
In this point of view Bärndütsch is a written language.
