Second, the operative sense of the word "dekita" in this phrase is not "can do" but rather, "come into being", "appeared" or "developed", as in, "gohan ga dekita zo! (dinner's ready!)" or "dekimono" (wart) or "dekigoto" (event). "Dekita" is preferable to "aru" in this instance because there is a change of state. While there are undoubtedly problems with my translation, I don't think this is one of them. Third, I will be away for the rest of this week, so feel free to assume the reigns for the Japanese translations. (Of course, you don't need my permission to post your own versions anyway...)
