its not the people who ask questions we tech support guys don't like, its the ones who don't learn... i used to work for an ISP and when a user calls to have his mail configured for the 7th time in outlook express, you know its a code 18 then again you have the caller who even though he knows practicaly nothing, goes "i just want the server names, i'm going to try and configure it myself and if theres something i really dont know what to do with i'll just call back" those types of people are not considered "lusers" because they have a willingness to learn, and can fend for themselves. example of a "luser" c) it says enter your name, what do i write in there t) your name c) it says john smith underneath it, do i write that t) no you write your name c) oh you mean my email adress? t) no you write YOUR NAME (*silence*) t) whats your name sir (*client tells me his name*) t) then write that in the box ect, ect, ect for each field for 20 minutes. (true story) so when i see a chat log like the one in the newbies thread, yes i find it funny, because that person installed an OS they know nothing about without even reading up on it and getting a minimum of knowledge i admit i know next to nothing about linux because i have about 0 free time to get around to installing it but when i do install it i'm gonna take a little trip to the local bookstore and buy a decent reference so that if i am in a position where i have to ask a question to a more knowledgeable person it will be for something that isn't simple to begin with...
