Firewalling? by Spaceman 2000-08-27 21:56:35
I run my own little ISP, as a part of a test project. I'd be real surprised if sony came up to me and asked to put in a firewall. No freaking way Sony, there is no way you can start messing with this network without getting your rear in a serious legal mess. And how do you think that you'll be able to 'firewall' it at my PC?. I would never install any software that puts TSR's in the background that blocks TCP traffic, that's just silly! Will Sony's computers start to include special software that blocks it's TCP ports to Napster? Will they get sued because this wasn't what the user asked to get? I've heard a lot of technobabble during my year as tech, and I would have to ask to sony. Does your VP know what he is saying? If he had any hint of how Napster functioned as a software, or how the internet itself worked he would understand that such an undertaking would be technically impossible to do without a miracle. There, now I'm done. Breakfast //Spaceman
