Oh yes.
Back in the days of Quake 1 and 2, I was a minor Quake God without really knowing, just very carefully searched for all the Easter eggs and applied my Doom strategy of "get a simple shotgun and run through your enemy". Using a well configured gamer mouse helped, too. :-)
My technical director from my first paying job like to game, and when First Job ended, he joked he would hire me if I played Quake well.
I invited him to our house on Easter, and it quickly turned into the official Easter Quake Bash of '98. He left after three days with a number of minus lives, and I had a job as a system administrator. :-D
